Round House was born in the Oklahoma Wild West. Things were so chaotic that no one knows the exact story of how we started.
This article from 1910 looking back on the wild early days of Shawnee tells a mysterious story:
"Originally, this institution was started by an itinerant tailor who had not a cent, but four sewing matchines of the heavy variety...[T]his wanderer was put to work with his four machines, making jumpers and overalls."

"The institution grew until one hundred machines were utilized.
The old tailor, however, had no part in the growth...After demonstrating that the industry was a paying one, he eloped with his boarding house lady's daughter..."
